A little about me...

Hi, I'm Chloe! I am a digital product manager living in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband, Ryan, and our pup, Mushu. I love traveling, exploring different restaurants, practicing pilates, getting creative with interior design, and spending quality time with family and friends. My husband and I met seven years ago in metro Detroit, where we both grew up. We got married on July 29th in the heart of Downtown Detroit, surrounded by our extensive families and dear friends, amidst the grandeur of the city's most iconic landmarks.

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

As we began planning our wedding, our guiding principle was to craft a celebration that authentically reflected who we are. Our goal was to intertwine timeless elegance with black-tie glamour, while infusing personal touches into every detail. From the grandest elements to the most intimate, we strived for a celebration that was undeniably 'us.' A key inspiration for us was the Motor City's golden age, aiming to capture the old-world charm and allure of Detroit. To bring this vision to life, we selected two of the city's historic landmarks as our wedding ceremony and reception venues, and even added a touch of nostalgia by including a vintage Ford Deluxe - a true symbol of the Motor City's legacy. Additionally, we had an amazing wedding planner, Kate McClellan from Planning Collective, who helped with every step of the way, especially coordinating the day-of so that Ryan and I could just relax and enjoy every moment as bride and groom.

Looking back on the day we are so glad that we…

Looking back on the day, my husband and I are so glad that we carved out moments for ourselves - from an intimate first look to a getaway car after the church ceremony, a private first dance, and a sweetheart table during dinner, just to name a few. Additionally, we couldn't be more content with our decision to opt for a big wedding surrounded by family and friends rather than a small destination affair. Incorporating traditional elements into our special day was also key - the beautiful ceremony at Sweetest Heart of Mary Church and the incredible band that had every guest on the dance floor added such magic to the celebration. Lastly, we were delighted with the amazing vendors we carefully selected. All of our research definitely paid off!

The most unexpected part of the day was...

Surprisingly, the most unexpected part was how perfect, joyful, and worry-free it all felt, even with the inevitable small hiccups. It was pure bliss! Those little details that seemed so crucial before simply faded into insignificance on the actual day. Instead, what truly mattered was the intimacy, the raw emotions, and being fully present in those indescribably special moments that come with marrying your best friend. It was a day I will forever treasure in my heart.

When I look back on the day now I feel….

Reflecting on the day now, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. All the meticulous planning and decision-making that went into creating our dream wedding culminated in a truly magical experience. We danced, we sang, we ate, we drank, we laughed, we cried! Each moment was filled with so much love and happiness. It was, without doubt, the most incredible day of our lives thus far.

A word of advice to new brides would be…

My advice to new brides is to take a deep breath and savor every single moment. Embrace the laughter, the tears, and everything in between. Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so immerse yourself in this beautiful chapter of your life. Let every second count, relax, have fun, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

My Homebodii moment was special because and I wore…

On the morning of my wedding day, I wore the beautiful Helena Robe from Homebodii. It embodied everything I envisioned for my special day - a classic, romantic, and undeniably feminine look. Not only did the Helena Robe drape and photograph elegantly, but it also added a touch of timeless glamour to my unforgettable day.
